TOP: The Transfiguration, which took place before the Passion. Peter, James and John went to the mountain with Jesus. While there, Jesus' face was changed and his clothes became as bright as lightning. God the Father said "This is my Son in whom I am well pleased".
MIDDLE: Mary Magdalen kneeling before Peter and John attempting to convince them that the tomb is empty.
BOTTOM: The empty tomb from which Christ has risen. The angel telling the women "He is Risen."

Knights of Columbus

This group is for mothers with preschool children. It affords an opportunity to meet with other mothers and children for play and adult discussion.

Coffee and Donuts
After all Masses on the second Sunday of the month different parish groups serve juice, coffee, muffins & donuts as a way for fellowship and recruitment.

Social Club
This group encourages adults of all ages to interact on a social level. Activities include the family St. Patrick's Day, Halloween Party, Valentine's Dinner Dance, Easter Bunny Bash, and Wake Up Santa.

Youth Group
These high school students and their friends meet Tuesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. This is an opportunity to discuss subjects relevant to their lives with many group activities, weekend getaways and service projects planned throughout the year.

Legion of Mary
The members visit homebound and sick parishioners. Active members attend weekly meetings after the Thursday 8:30 a.m. Mass. Auxiliary members assist with prayers, including the daily recitation of the Rosary. New members are welcome!

Respect Life Committee
This group seeks to promote the Gospel of Life and to defend the sanctity of all human life, from conception until natural death. This takes place through prayer services and by providing educational materials and resources for those in special need.

Grounds Committee
This group's goal is to improve and enhance the beauty of St. Joseph's grounds by maintaining the flower beds and yards. The gardens are truly a joy to behold and are proof of a Divine God.

Welcoming Committee
This group contacts new parishioners once they are registered at St. Joseph's. They host two welcoming dinner parties for them and their families during the year.

St. Vincent De Paul Society
This group assists parishioners who are in financial need. It collects food, clothing and money for the inner city poor (The Port). The group supports Project Hope, which helps reduce homelessness and also supports the soup kitchen through Catholic Charities in Des Plaines.

Bereavement Ministry
These trained bereavement ministers offer support to family members at the time of loss of a loved one. Literature is available to comfort and guide the family during this time of grief. They sponsor All Souls and special remembrance Masses.

Women's Club
This group provides the women of the parish with spiritual and social activities and also is involved with community outreach, bake sales, Day of Recollection, the St. Joseph Table, and the Christmas Dinner & Toy Drive are some activities.

Emergency Response
This subcommittee of the Women's Club organizes assistance for people of the parish in need of temporary help getting to an appointment, needing a meal cooked, grocery shopping or errands done.

Church Women United
This subcommittee of the Women's Club is an international organization which works towards making the world a safer place for women and children. Wilmette's C.W.U. meets once a year at the "May Friendship Day". They also support 2 events during the year with Evanston's C.W.U.

Charitable Outreach
This subcommittee of the Women's Club collects items needed for the Sisters of Christian Charity. Drop off donations at the rectory.

Meals at Home
This subcommittee of the Women's Club provide volunteers for "Meals at Home" to deliver meals to homebound elderly, disabled, and those temporarily unable to care for their nutritional needs.

Ministers of Care
This group gives spiritual and emotional support to the homebound aged, chronically ill and those who have been hospitalized, by providing the Eucharist and conveying the pastoral care of the community to them.

L.O.S.S.
Loving Outreach to Survivors of Suicide reaches out to family members and loved ones with the purpose of bringing healing and hope after such a painful loss. Meetings are on the fourth Sunday of the month in the Joseph Room.

Ushers
These men and women serve as "greeters" for our parish. They welcome people to our Masses, answer questions, distribute bulletins & take up the collection. It does require a commitment to a definite Mass.

Baptismal Preparation Classes
Couples from the parish host Baptismal Preparation in their homes. This class is for parents who are having their first child baptized.

Block Party
This group plans the parish picnic usually held the third Sunday in July. Entertainment, food, and games for the kids are preceded by an outdoor Mass. Volunteers for committees are welcome.

Katrina Relief Committee
The goal is to establish a relationship with Sacred Heart Church in Diberville, Mississippi and to aide in their funding to rebuild the church, school and parish center; all of which were destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

FAMILIA
Each FAMILIA group meets on a regular basis to pray the gospel and study the teachings of the church as they specifically relate to the family. FAMILIA is an international Catholic lay apostolate of the church committed to the well-being of the family. It is dedicated to meeting the challenges facing the family in a contemporary society.
