The Catholics Come Home initiative began last year with the media campaign during the season of Advent. Its mission was to reach out to Catholics that have fallen away from the Catholic Church and to invite them to return.

Over these months, prayers by many of our church organizations, church bulletin articles, welcome tables, advertisements in the Wilmette Life, our Lenten Mission and parishioners placing names of family members and friends in vases succeeded in opening the door to many Catholics that have been away from the church.
As a result of this effort, The Evangelization Team met with 10 Catholics interested in returning. To assist these Catholics in their return and to answer any questions they may have, a Mentoring program has been established for their journey back.
Not all those interested were able to attend the event. Parishioners desiring assistance to help family members or friends return to the Church are invited to call the Rectory (847-251-0771) or leave an E-mail message via the website expressing your needs. |
